Don’t forget – Pay rates change from 1 July 2016!
Each year The Fair Work Commission review the national minimum wage and pay rates. This year they have announced that from 1 July 2016 the minimum wage will increase by 2.4%. This means the increase will apply to the first full pay period on or after this date.
The increase will bring the minimum wage up to $672.70 per week, or $17.70 per hour.
This increase will not affect employees already being paid more than the new minimum wage. It will only apply to employees getting their pay rate from the national minimum wage, a modern award or, in some cases, a registered agreement.
